About iOS downloads
iPhone and iPad clients are normally distributed through the App Store. Unlike Android APK files, there is no universal installer. Availability, pricing, and features can vary by Apple ID region.
Apple ID registration and region guide
Option 1: Create a separate regional account (recommended)
Using a separate account only for App Store downloads avoids changing the region of your primary account and affecting existing subscriptions, balances, or Family Sharing.
- Open Apple's official Apple ID website↗ and choose the option to create an Apple ID.
- Select a country or region where the target app is available and that you are eligible to use.
- Enter an email address and phone number you control, then complete email and SMS verification.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings and go to your name → Media & Purchases → Sign Out. You do not need to sign out of iCloud.
- Open the App Store, sign in with the new account, and use the App Store button on this page to open the app listing.
- Keep access to the account and its verification methods because updates or future downloads may require it again.
Option 2: Change the country or region of an existing account
On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Country/Region. You may need to spend the remaining balance, cancel certain subscriptions, and leave Family Sharing first. Follow Apple's official region-change instructions↗ for current requirements.
If your primary account already has purchased apps, iCloud services, or active subscriptions, avoid changing its region solely to download one client.
What to check
- Make sure the app supports your subscription format and required protocols.
- Check the developer name, version history, and privacy information in the App Store.
- Do not install unknown enterprise-signed apps or configuration profiles.
- Changing an Apple ID region can affect updates and future downloads, so review the restrictions first.
- Follow local laws, Apple's terms, and the rules of any relevant platform when using apps and subscription services.
